Why aren't my Iris' standing up?

I have bearded Iris' and they don't stand upright, the whole stem, from the ground, just falls over, like it's top heavy. Am I not watering it enough? Why would they just fall over?

Why aren't my Iris' standing up?
Actually it sounds like you are watering them too much. They soak up the water and that will make their stems weak. Hold off on so much water.
Reply:u should find a way to turn it on...maybe show it your flower
Reply:They may not be planted deeply enough.
Reply:Over watering cut back a little.
Reply:Was there a heavy wind recently?

Did they stand up last year?

I had trouble with my normal white irises, but learned that the BIG pots they were in, were not deep enough to produce a strong plant. Replanting to the ground, NOT a pot, made the difference one year later.

However, yours are already in the ground?

You have watered them enough if they grew enough to produce tall stems and heavy flowers.
Reply:Your blooms are just top heavy. Some plants are just that way. I have yuka plants that are so full of blooms they fall over.

If it bothers you too much you could buy some think decorative rods and tie your stalks to them with gardening string.
