Artificial iris (permanent colored contacts), is it possible?

Ok so I was wondering if there is a way to change the color of an iris, I'm curious I have blue green eye's and am happy with them but I was wondering if there is a way to implant colored contacs in the eye that may give the color a more real effect rather than normal contacts I found this website so can it actually be done (if you give them the money and if it actually can be done),would it be a very risky procedure could you go blind?

Did you actually read these sites?

These devices are designed for plastic surgery to repair or replace damaged or missing irises. Note:

" ... prosthetic iris devices are not approved in the United States ... ", and they are "available only under a compassionate-use exemption from the Food and Drug Administration".

And no one is going to get an exemption from the FDA for an unapproved device because they want to get a new eye color. Plus a doctor who did this surgery without the appropriate FDA approval would be in danger of losing his or her license.

Aside from all that, basically any time you have surgery on your eye, there is a risk that the eye will be damaged and blindness will result. Opening the eye changes the pressure within it and the retina can detach, vessels can tear and bleed, lasers can be programmed or used wrongly and the retina can be burned, bacterial or viral infections can break out and destroy the eye, and so on.

It might sound like I am just trying to scare you, but this stuff really happens. There are actually even bigger problems sometimes: anesthetics can be used improperly and patients can be killed, the retina is part of the brain and open eye surgery can lead to brain infections and disability or death, etc.

All surgeries entail risks. That's why anyone undergoing an elective surgery needs to be really sure they want it - even understanding the risks. Didn't Kanye West's mother just die due to complications from plastic surgery?
