Does the Iris get damaged when the eye is transplanted or donated to other person ???

The Iris is considered to be the most important part in the Iris Recgonition Technology. In such a case, when the eye is donated or fixed to someother person, does any change take place to the iris patterns ???

Eye transplantation means only the cornea is transplanted not entire eye ( I think you have seen minority report of Tom Cruise) But in actual world we only can transplant cornea only, how ever there are many surgeries of eye which can damage iris, like surgery done for glaucoma %26amp; some extrent simple catract surgery also. so as finger prints may change with scar on plam such limitation is also there for even iris based recongnestion technology
Reply:No I am Physcian MD Gen Med Report It

Reply:The so called "eye transplants" actually only involve the cornea and not the entire eyeball. To be able to transplant an entire eyeball would require some amazing microsurgery to stitch the optic nerve into place and as such is not possible yet.
Reply:The iris is protected with great care, and any damage would be highly unusual.
