Iris Rebecca, Iris Ruby or Iris Evangeline?

Rebecca is my best friends name...the other 2 I just like. Which one do you like best? I've only got 10 weeks to go!!!!

Iris Rebecca, Iris Ruby or Iris Evangeline?
Oh, I adore Iris! It's a lovely throwback name that sounds interesting and modern, too. And with so many girls called Lily and Violet, she'll fit right in *and* stand out.





I quite like Iris Rebecca. All three choices are nice, but this one has the best flow, IMHO. Plus, it has personal meaning - and I always think it is best to choose names that have ties to our roots.





Iris Evangeline would be my 2d choice; I'm putting Iris Ruby third because I think a flower name paired with a gemstone name is a bit much - even though it's a pleasing pairing.

iris ruby doesn't work because both names have two syllables and it doesn't flow.





iris rebecca doesn't work, because iris is exotic while rebecca is kinda common.

Reply:Iris Evangeline. It's so delicate. I like all of them but this one just stands out to me. It's unique. You don't hear of Evangeline a lot compared to the other 2. I've always liked the name Iris too. Good job with the choices. Whatever you choose it's a lovely name and any girl would love it. Congrats!
Reply:I think Iris Rebecca sounds the best and has the best meaning, too. Iris Ruby isn't bad, but I think the DA-da DA-da rhythm is a bit awkward. Iris Evangeline feels very unbalanced to me, even though I love both names.

Reply:My two favorites are Iris Evangeline and Iris Rebecca, with Rebecca being just ahead because of the repeated R sounds and the personal meaning to it. My least favorite is Iris Ruby which sounds too choppy.





Iris Rebecca is lovely. I think you should go with it.
