Whis the song Iris by the goo goo dolls called iris?

Johnny had wrote the song for the movie City of Angels but he didn't know what to call it so he was sitting around one day trying to think of a name and saw an add for a singer named Iris in the newspaper, he liked the name so decided to call it Iris

Whis the song Iris by the goo goo dolls called iris?
It may be because the song focuses on the the sense of sight ' i dont want the world to SEE me'....


so the iris is a part of your eye.... i dont know it seems logical
