It is now june, i trimmed my iris plants..will they be ok?

i cut back my iris plants to about 4", did i cause any damage to them

It is now june, i trimmed my iris plants..will they be ok?
Very good - now if you want to transplant any, this is the time to do it. Just make sure a little of the root is above ground, they need shallow planting. Keep well watered for a few weeks and add a little compost - good luck.
Reply:You cut them back a little early, the best time is late July, early August. The most that would happen is you may lose some blooms for next year, but the plant will still live. In the future, try not to cut them back quite so early.
