Someone I recently met has a dark spot on their eye, right on their iris, next to the pupil, what is it?

It looks like the pupil is bleeding in to the iris, so part of the iris is completely black. Can someone please tell me what it might be?

a congregation of melanin could be it.





or a healed subconjunctival hemorrhage.
Reply:My mom's eyes look like this. She was treated with laser surgery for a form of glaucoma. The Dr. needed to use the laser to puncture her irises to relieve the pressure that was building up in her eyes.
Reply:If it is a small mark it is simply a pigment. If it's larger it's called a hypotrophic sectoral heterochromia. It does mean something depending on the color and is hereditary. Tell the person to find an IIPA certified Iridologist in their area for more help.

my aunt has a mole on her eyeball (hand to God serious, the doctor told her that's what it is), but not on the iris. it looks really weird. maybe that's what this person has on their eye.
Reply:could have bursted a blood vessel in the eye - it goes away, but leaves a mark for a while. Or, it could be a freckle.
Reply:It's a freckle. My dad has a couple. As weird as it sounds you CAN get freckles on your eyeballs
Reply:This sounds as if the person has a coloboma a cleft of the iris. Coloboma is a rare eye condition where the iris does not close all the way.


My son has this condition.


if you are lucky It can affect the iris only or it can go clear back to the optic nerve of the eye. This eye condition is also related to a few different syndromes such as Charge which my son has and also cat eye syndrome.

Reply:An accumulation of "fat" It's called fat because it has the same consistency . It's like a little growth
