My shih-tzu has one white iris and in dark pupil reflects white not red?

when i let my dog out in the dark, one eye shines white pupil, other is red, and the eye shining white has a white iris also. The brown eye shines red. My other dog has both brown eyes and in dark (or on camera) shines red. So should I assume he is blind in that eye? He doesn't have symptoms of that. He is apprx. 3 or 4 yrs old. We just got him last summer and we couldn't get all info on him. Anyone know what could be the reason for this one white eye?

Possibly the beginnings of a cataract maybe?
Reply:i would have the dog checked by a vet.eye specialist. it could be many different things and you need to be aware of what to look for if there are changes inside of the eye.

my dog has geographic dysplacia in one eye and nothing can be see outside of eye but if pressure builds in eye it can blow her eye out.
Reply:One possibility is if it was abused. I have seen many dogs from shelters, pounds and such have different colored eyes. Similar to your situation.
