Of her work, her presence?
Of course her work on AW /Texas was unforgetable, no less so on GL ... Too bad soap actors don't get roles they deserve in other mediums ( movies and TV, theatre) more often than not.
I loved the realtionship and rapport she developed with Vivian (Gretchen O.), her maid on AW (and Texas too I think) more than anything. It showed another side of Iris....

Beverlee McKinsey, who wowed viewers as Iris (AW, Texas) and Alexandra (GL) , died this week ; your memories?
I remember her as Alexandra on Guiding Light. She was the head of the family and given alot of the storyline responsibility while Alan was in prison. She played on GL during it's real glory years in the late 80's and early 90's. When it embodied decadence, class, and great drama.
Her feuds with Mindy Lewis, her marriage to Roger, and her storyline with son Nick, long lost twin of Lujack were great. Billy Lewis used to refer to her as "The Dragon Lady" and people were intimidated by her, but as she told Eleni who was married to Alan-Michael at the time- "Honest people have no reason to fear me."
My most memorable McKinsey scene was at the end of a friday cliffhanger when she hadn't seen Nick yet (dead ringer for her dead son) and he came out of the shadows in the mansion and introduced himself to her for the first time. She was looking at old Lujack pictures in a box. She looked up, and her jaws dropped. She dropped the box of pictures on the floor, there was awesome background music playing, then it cut off. Absolute dynomite! If anybody can find the youtube of this, send me a link. Guiding Light has unfortunately fallen very far from grace. I can't bare to watch it anymore.
Reply:I am so sorry to hear that she died. She was so beautiful and played such a good B****! She was truly someone you loved to hate. Even though they tried replacing her, no one could ever play the role the way that she did. I will always remember her playing Iris on Another World and Texas.
